Sound is everywhere and therefore difficult to avoid. Since noise can have a major impact on human health, this must be taken into account. I like to take on this challenge within M+P, within the built environment group, but also the industry group. Humans spend most of their time indoors, which makes it even more important to optimize comfort there. I find the perception of sound something fascinating, which made me want to continue this after my studies.
During my research internship, I conducted research on the sound experience of road traffic noise indoors by means of Virtual Reality Technology. During my graduation research of Human-Technology Interaction at the TU in Eindhoven, I was allowed to investigate the effect of low-frequency noise in lightweight constructions on the sound experience.
In my spare time I like to be on the hockey field, on my fast racing bike, or something else that's sporty, but I also often spend time behind my piano. I like doing puzzles, playing board games, sewing and walking. I love to listen to music non-stop.
